The Israel Campaign - Standing with freedom, standing with democracy, standing with Israel

Exposing Hajj Amin Al-Husseini

When I was standing in Hyde Park shouting ‘Bomb Bomb Israel’, and listening to Israel being compared to the Nazis, I firmly believed that, like Iranian President Ahmadinejad mentioned not too long ago, that Israel was result of European guilt for the Holocaust   Of course today I know that’s rubbish, the Jewish connection to the land of Israel did not being in 1930, it goes back 1000’s of years, indeed the Quran mentions it after talking about the Jews exodus from Egypt:

Sura Al Isra (The night Journey) 17: 104. And We (Allah) said to the Children of Israel after him: "Dwell in the land (Land of Israel), then, when the final and the last promise comes near. We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd (gathered out of various nations).

Unsurprisingly this verse isn’t really mentioned when we are taught about the re-establishment of Israel, in fact in the version of history I was taught there is very little mention of the man who has done more damage to the Palestinian people than any other, the criminal Nazi Al-Hajj Amin Husseini – Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.  This man is responsible for aligning with the Nazi’s, vile anti-Semitism and has sowed the seeds of the Anti-Semitism that’s rife in the Arab world today! While my ancestors (India-Pakistan) proudly fought against the Nazi war machine, this coward recruited for the cause of Nazi tyranny.  It’s imperative that people know about this evil human being.

Here are some key events highlighting his crimes:

  • 1920/1921 - Amin Al-Husseini begins life-long campaign of inciting hate between Jews and Muslims under British Mandate of Palestine. He begins rule of terror over local Muslim leaders, who denounce him as an ignorant thug.  Al-Husseini and others organize demonstrations in Jerusalem, calling for Arab independence and union with Syria.

  • May 1921 - High Commissioner Samuel appoints Al-Husseini Mufti of Jerusalem. In 1922, al-Husseini becomes president of the Supreme Muslim Council and the administrator of the waqf (funds for repair and improvement of religious sites and institutions).against the local Muslim vote, Amin Al-Husseini came in a poor fourth place in the vote.  The Muslim community rejected his candidacy because he had not received any credible Islamic education.

  • 1929 - The Hebron Massacre - Amin Al-Husseini incites more riots in Palestine mandate.   He spreads false rumours that Jews were massacring Arabs in Jerusalem and seizing control of Muslim holy places, to further turn the local Muslims against the Jews and incite brutal violence.  Hebron Jewish community was over 2,000 years old, Jews were killed and Jewish homes and synagogues were ransacked

  • 1936–1939 Arab revolt - uprising by Arabs in Mandate Palestine against British colonial rule and Jewish immigrationAmin Al-Husseini is main organizer of riots.  He organizes suicide squads against the local authorities.  Applies Nazi methodology of “systematic extermination” of any Arab suspected of less than total loyalty to Pan-Islamic vision of Muslim Brotherhood

  • April 1941 - Al-Husseini participates in a pro-Axis coup in Iraq. The new government, under Rashid 'Ali al-Kailani, deploys Al-Husseini as the key contact to the Axis powers.

  • May 1941 - Germany begins to supply Al-Husseini, now in Baghdad, with payments to foment an uprising in Palestine.

    • October 1941 - Al-Husseini meets with Benito Mussolini, the Duce (Leader) of Fascist Italy. Mussolini agrees to a joint Axis statement along the lines of Al-Husseini's proposal to Hitler.

    • November 28, 1941 - Adolf Hitler receives Al-Husseini in Berlin, a meeting covered by the German press. The Führer declines to issue any public declaration or conclude an agreement with Al-Husseini regarding his January 1941 requests.

    • Early 1942 - In collaboration with the Axis powers Al-Husseini begins developing themes for radio and print propaganda directed primarily at the Arab and Muslim world.

    • July 1942 - Al-Husseini proposes a pan-Arab centre in newly occupied Egypt to produce and disseminate propaganda, to carry out sabotage operations and incite rebellions behind British lines, and to train Arab regulars as the core of a liberating Arab army under Al-Husseini's control. The Germans and the Italians reject this concept.

    • Late September 1942 - Al-Husseini again proposes a pan-Arab centre, this time in Tunis, to direct propaganda in Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. The Axis powers reject the plan.

    • December 1942 - At the opening of the Central Islamic Institute in Berlin, Al-Husseini denounces the Jews as the bitterest enemies of Islam. He accuses the Jews of provoking nations against each other and unleashing World War II. He calls on Muslims to liberate themselves from enemy persecution. Nazi propagandists provide major coverage of the opening and of Al-Husseini's remarks. His speech is broadcast from Germany to the Middle East on December 23, 1942.

    • February 1943 - Hitler agrees to create the 13th Waffen-SS Mountain Division, later also known as "Handschar." Reichsführer-SS (SS chief)Heinrich Himmler authorizes recruitment of Bosnian Muslims for the division. In March and April, the SS Main Office sends Al-Husseini to assist in recruitment efforts.

    • May-June 1943 - Al-Husseini writes to the Bulgarian, German, Italian, Hungarian, and Romanian governments, demanding they not participate in British efforts to transfer Jewish children from Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria to Palestine. He suggests the children be sent to Poland (extermination camps). The Germans had already taken steps to halt the transports in March and April of 1943.

    • February 1944 - The Germans deploy the 13th Waffen-SS Mountain Division, now also known as the "Handschar" Division, in western Croatia and northeastern Bosnia.

    • September-October 1944 - Nearly 3,000 soldiers of the 13th Waffen-SS Mountain Division desert. Most of the rest mutiny in mid-October, refusing to transfer to Hungary to fight Soviet troops. Himmler dissolves the division.

    • November 1944 - At Al-Husseini's suggestion, the German Foreign Office announces the formation of an Arab-Muslim army (to be composed of Arab and Muslim volunteers and Muslim and Arab soldiers serving in Axis forces) to counter the Jewish Brigade Group in the British army.

    • November 1959 - Al-Husseini addresses a secret memorandum to the leaders of all Arab states advocating Arab unity against "Jewish aggression and imperialism" and denouncing the partition of Palestine.

    The Legacy

Fast forward to 1969 and the PLO is headed by a man named Rahman Abdul Rauf al-Qudwa al-Husseini. Al-Husseini was a nephew and great admirer of Uncle Haj Amin al-Husseini. He was born in Cairo in 1929 and grew up in the Gaza strip. His mother, Hamida, was a cousin of the Grand Mufti. Due to internal Arab strife, his father Abdul Rauf al-Qudwa was forced to flee Gaza where the family took refuge in Egypt.

Al-Husseini's cousin is Faisal al-Husseini who is the grandson of Haj Amin al-Husseini and the PLO representative in Jerusalem who directed attacks on the Jews praying at the Western Wall. When Rahman Abdul Rauf al-Qudwa al-Husseini enrolled at the University of Cairo in 1951, he decided to conceal his true identity and registered under the name "Yasser Arafat."

Al Hajj Amin Husseini has passed his hatred of Jews to his nephew Yasser Arafat who has passed the same legacy of hatred to the next generation of young Arabs, innocent Palestinians have been indoctrinated with messages of hatred and anti-Semitism.

Yasser Arafat was interviewed by Al Sharq Al Awsat (London Arabic Daily) and reprinted in Palestinian daily Al Quds on August 2, 2002: “We are not Afghanistan… We are the mighty people.  Were they able to replace our hero Hajj Amin Al-Husseini?… There were a number of attempts to get rid of Hajj Amin, when they considered him an ally of the Nazis. But even so, he lived in Cairo, and participated in the 1948 War and I was one of his troops.”
